Kay was invited
to paint a cowboy hat to help benefit the National Intercollegiate Rodeo
Association in May.
Wrangler provided the hats and participating artists the designs/painting
of them. The NIRF committee's goal was to raise $10,000.00
at a Style Show event held at the Holiday Inn in Casper, Wyoming on June
13, 2004. The creative work of all contributing artists
helped them to surpass that goal, increasing it to almost $23,000.00 in
a well received sold out show!
The National Intercollegiate Rodeo Foundation supports scholarships, injured
rodeo athletes, historical
preservation, and RAWHIDE (which fosters wellness & a healthy lifestyle)
and helps young cowboys and
cowgirls get a college education while continuing to participate in the
sport of rodeo.
